Knottage Type of a Carpet is used to know the kind of weaving done in making of the carpet. If it is a double knotted carpet ,it would imply in plain language that it is thicker as compared to a single knotted carpet and two threads have been used simultaneously in its weaving. Usually  Carpets on which furniture   or some other heavy items  etc are to be placed are double knotted carpets
